8/2/24-8/3/24: This weekend is New Orleans Black Men’s Health Weekend 2024! Black Men's Health Weekend celebrates the impact of a black man’s health on his personal success and the successes of the black community.
Friday August 2nd, attendees are invited to come out to the Meet-n- Greet (kick-off activity) NOLA Skyline Event Center 10001 Lake Forest Blvd, Ste 1100, New Orleans, LA 70127 from 6 to 9 p.m. Attendees will be treated to a red-carpet affair with opportunities to engage each other and experts in a relaxed atmosphere.
Saturday August 3, 2024, from 9 am to 2 pm, the Black Men's Mental Health Symposium will convene in the Xavier University of Louisiana Ballroom, 1 Drexel Dr. New Orleans, LA, 70125. The day will begin with a breakfast plenary followed by concurrent presentations and a lunch keynote address. Following lunch, attendees will be able to engage in a variety of wellness activities such as yoga, Pilates, massage therapy, stretching and plyometrics, and cooking/food demonstrations. In addition, attendees can receive health screenings, insurance navigation assistance and interact with a broad array of social service agencies. We will be proving free

8/5/24: SUNO is hosting their Athletic New Student Orientation on campus. From 11a-2pm, We will be there offering free HIV, Hep C, and Syphilis Testing along with linkage to care, condoms, lube, and more sexual health education.
8/7/24: We have partnered with Hope Credit Union and Viiv Healthcare for the 3rd “Community Financial Literacy Seminar” August 7th 6pm – 8pm at CrescentCare 1631 Elysian Fields Ave. Securing finances, empowering choices, and investing in your financial and sexual health journey. Free HIV, Hep C, Syphilis testing and linkage to care on site as well as other health resources like Covid-19 and STI testing kits.
8/10/24: The Movement has partnered with Deviant Events for their “HOT 100” initiative with Gilead Sciences and Us helping Us to have 100 Deviants get tested and know their status. Participants can visit the Movement’s office 1631 Elysian Fields Ave. or any outreach event for testing and get free entry to the Red Dress Run Event! 8/14/24: It is move in day at SUNO. From 11a-2pm, We will be there offering free HIV, Hep C, and Syphilis Testing along with linkage to care, condoms, lube, and more sexual health education.
8/20/24: August 20th is Southern HIV/AIDS Awareness Day! Here in New Orleans, there are 2 major events happening. At 11am, we are hosting a press conference on the steps of New Orleans City Hall 1300 Perdido St. We will reveal 2 proclamations we received from Mayor Latoya Cantrell and The New Orleans City Council recognizing August 20th as Southern HIV/AIDS Awareness Day in the city!
Later in the evening, we are hosting the FIRST EVER Southern HIV/AIDS Awareness Day Community Awards for 7pm at CrescentCare 1631 Elysian Fields Ave. We will recognize those who have been doing the work, nominated, and voted for by community. Our goal is to acknowledge the people who work tirelessly in STI and the HIV (Prevention, Treatment and Care).

National HIV Testing Day is on June 27!
